The backend server system presents a single view of the monitored devices and if required can interface with existing call centre systems. Data from one or more collectors is consilidated in the backend server's database to provide a history of monitored instances.
Both the collector and the backend server run instances of the popular open source MySQL database. The system can be configured to process data from other open source monitoring databases e.g. Nagios.
In case where open source or proprietry software is not available we undertake bespoke development projects.
Most monitoring instances utilise the ubiquitous Simple Network Management Protocol. In addition to SNMP the CentralEyes collector can use custom developed software to read and control specific electric meters and to obtain partial discherge readings for the monitoring of electrical sub-stations.
The CentralEyes collector supports Ethernet, RS-232 and RS-485 connections and has both 5-volt and 12-volt power supplies. It is fitted with a Linux processor and 3G modem.
